What is the Ignatian Eucharistic Movement (MEI)?
The Ignatian Eucharistic Movement -MEI- is part of the pastoral care of the Movements of the Seminary College. The proposal begins in the Fourth and continues in the Fifth and Sixth year of Primary (children aged 10 and 11), maintaining continuity later in Secondary School with the Horneros and Castores movements.
The MEI basically seeks to be a non-formal instance of growth in the Christian faith, lived in a group from the Ignatian spirituality and with a strong emphasis on the sense of apostolate. It is an optional proposal.
Every week, students meet in stable reference groups to work on topics developed by the Coordinators (volunteers who are former students of the School), based on dynamics that include games, prayers, performances and reflections, among others.
The objectives of the MEI
Fourth year (Spiritual dimension)
Help children take their first steps in prayer, providing tools and showing them different areas where they can find God. Learn about the life of Ignatius and Ignatian spirituality. Celebrate the Eucharist, showing it as a central moment in our lives.
Fifth year (Group dimension)
To promote and develop interpersonal relationships between children and with the coordinators. To value the group as a favourable environment for playing, working, sharing and making commitments. To live the Christian sense of plurality and respect.
Sixth year (Apostolic dimension)
To know and analyze the different realities that surround us. To discover Jesus in our brothers and sisters who are most in need, who, with what we are and have, invites us to transform reality. To carry out concrete actions to put this into practice.
