Procedure for weather alerts and strikes
The College faces the strikes of private education
In response to the many questions we have received from many parents about the School's position regarding the strikes organised by Sintep (Private Education Workers' Union), we are communicating the School's position on the strikes. Perhaps the most important thing to say is that the School does not adhere to them and that the doors of the Institution remain open on these days.
As you will understand, we cannot guarantee the normal development of classes, since the strike is a right enshrined in our Constitution. If some teachers and staff adhere to them because they consider it fair and necessary to make their demands heard, the College respects their right and does everything possible to look after its students.
We would like to stress that even if the service is irregular, our students will be properly cared for. We also inform you that families will not be notified every time Sintep declares a strike, since the media always report these resolutions. Obviously, the decision of whether or not to send their children to school on those days falls on the family.
The School in the face of weather alerts
Protocol for the College's operation in response to alerts issued by the National Institute of Meteorology (INUMET).
Based on Circular No. 2/2010 – 2nd of the Central Board of Directors of the National Public Education Administration.
Red alert
If the alert is RED, educational activities are suspended.
If the RED alert is known during class hours, the following action will be taken:
- School management will inform people in the premises of the eventuality, ensuring that they feel supported and protected.
- If the students are minors, they will have to wait for their parents or guardians to pick them up from the school, even if class hours have ended, except for high school students who may do so under their own responsibility.
- If the students are of legal age, they may withdraw voluntarily under their own responsibility.
Orange and Yellow Alert
The school remains open and “educational activities will continue as normal.” The attendance of students is at the discretion of the families.
