We aim to train students in a comprehensive approach, which combines the teaching of the skills specific to the area and the disciplines that comprise it – Geography, Training for Citizenship and Citizenship Education, History/History, Sociology, Economics, Law and Political Science – as well as those related to Global, Local and Environmental Citizenship, in an interdisciplinary perspective that incorporates Natural Sciences and the Faith-Science-Culture dialogue.

Our intention is for students to question contemporary social, political and economic phenomena, analyze them in a rigorous manner, visualize their complexity, understand their historicity and their multidimensional impact on our lives, reflect on the underlying ethical aspects and propose alternatives to the surrounding problems from the logic of service. To this end, within the framework of an approach of active construction of knowledge by students, we incorporate into our proposal Project and Problem-Based Learning, Cooperative Learning and the Expanded Classroom, among other methodologies. We also aim to contribute to the development of key transversal skills for our students' civic and university life, such as argumentation, scientific research methodologies, academic writing and collaborative work.
