En Primer año trabajamos sobre el Model UN
En Primer año de Secundaria, en Skills de Inglés trabajamos Social Studies, con foco en el mundo de habla inglesa. Dentro de las unidades del curso, estudiamos las diferentes variedades que presenta el inglés, en particular inglés británico y americano. Como manera de ilustrar este punto, vemos la película “Winning London”, en la cual un grupo de liceales norteamericanos participan en la conferencia internacional de Model United Nations (MUN), que en ese año se lleva a cabo en Londres.
La película permite entonces, mostrar a los alumnos las características del MUN, y comenzar a interiorizarse con la forma en la que el Colegio participa de esta instancia, con el objetivo de motivarlos para que eventualmente ellos participen también. El trabajo fue orientado por la Profa. Mercedes Couchet.

Model UN: What is it? Why would it be interesting to participate?
Model UN is a competition of a lot of different schools of many countries and each school has to represent a country. It would be interesting to participate because you can learn more about countries maybe you traveled to another country and you meet people from different schools.
Model UN is a competition in which you with your school form a group and represent another country. You need to study that country and represent it. It would be interesting to participate because you will learn about the culture of another country. You also can win a prize. And you can make new friends.

The model in the UN is a competition for schools to simulate that they are in the real United Nation. Different schools compete there, each of them represents a country that can be their native or not. They have a high responsibility and a big compromise as they have to study a lot and think a lot. If you ask me I would be interested in participate because in my opinion is a very good experience since you have to investigate and study another country and then give a solution to a problem that this country have and to defend yours ideas. Personally doing all that things lead me to imagine that I am an adult.
In my opinion Model UN is a competition, draws a diverse group of informed college/university students and faculty from around the world to address current global issues and represent countries.
